Shopping for Slate Floor Tiles

If you’re looking for a truly one-of-a-kind look, there’s nothing quite like slate flooring. It’s available at The Tile Shop in a variety of colors, sizes and shapes, so you can find the perfect combination of this time-tested material and your own personal style.

The Many Colors of Slate Flooring

Although slate (the color) usually connotes a medium to dark shade of bluish gray, slate (the material) is naturally found in a variety of colors. Our collection of slate floor tiles includes lighter shades, like cream, sand and beige tiles; multiple colors of brown, dark green and even red; and dark, moody shades of charcoal and black.

The floor of this room is covered in multi-colored square slate tiles. Each tile features a unique mix of brown, gray, tan and deep golden tones.

A Variety of Shapes for Interest and Movement

Slate is often associated with freeform pieces of natural stone arranged so that they generally fit together. (This style was especially popular for entryway flooring in mid-century homes.) However, our selection includes slate floor tiles in shapes like square, subway, hexagon and more. We also offer several mosaic styles, including brick-look, and Versailles (a best-selling arrangement of squares and rectangles available in multiple sizes and colors, and the ideal no-pattern pattern for any room).
