There’s a reason great design never goes out of style: It tells a story, reflects a point of view and evolves with the people who live with it.

For more than three decades, Nate Berkus has built his career on the belief that our homes should tell our stories. Rather than chasing trends, his interiors layer history, texture and meaningful details to create spaces that feel collected rather than decorated.

The Tile Shop x Nate Berkus, our newest designer collaboration, brings that perspective to tile. Inspired by architectural and decorative traditions that have shaped beautiful homes for generations, this exclusive collection pairs historic influence with a fresh, livable sensibility.

Featuring floor and wall tile, statement patterns, versatile foundation pieces and authentic brick, every style was designed to work together, making it easy to layer materials, mix patterns and create a home that is distinctly your own.

Inspired by the Past, Designed for Today

“The most enduring spaces begin with a strong foundation. I wanted this collection to feel as though it had always existed, while giving people the freedom to make it their own.”

– Nate Berkus

For Berkus, great design has never been about following the latest craze. “I am vehemently anti-trend,” he says. Instead, he favors interiors that are built around materials, colors and details that never lose their appeal. “The rooms people still love 20 or 30 years later are rarely the ones designed around trends.”

True to that philosophy, references to European chateaus, French cafés, Spanish villas and Mexican tile traditions appear throughout the collection. Rather than recreating these historic elements, the designs reinterpret them for the way we live today.

Inside the Collection

From versatile foundation pieces to expressive statement tiles, every style in the Tile Shop x Nate Berkus collection was designed to work together. A palette of charcoal, soft whites and terracotta creates a common thread throughout, making it easy to mix materials, layer pattern and personalize a space.

Essential Foundations

The Lagos series serves as the anchor of the collection. Available in three versatile colors and multiple sizes, it works beautifully on its own or alongside the collaboration’s decorative styles. Its matte finish, lightly chiseled edges and subtle stone-inspired variation evoke the richness of handcrafted tile, while its coordinated palette provides a versatile backdrop for the rest of the collection.

European Classics

Some design ideas remain beautiful regardless of the era. The geometric mosaics found in Parisian apartment entries, cafés and historic European interiors continue to resonate because they offer quiet structure and old-world elegance while maintaining a sense of balance.

Honore reimagines the classic French grid layout, while Avenue and Eloise reinterpret beloved mosaic traditions with fresh proportions and graceful detailing. Chateau Brick completes the story with real kiln-fired clay, introducing warmth, texture and presence that lends a feeling of history to even newly installed spaces.

Geometry With Soul

Pattern doesn’t have to shout to make an impact. Throughout the collection, geometry creates movement through thoughtful forms, distinctive silhouettes, and the way individual pieces come together during installation.

Isabel transforms simple circles and diamonds into a striking composition inspired by Spanish and Portuguese tilework, while Valencia pairs a classic hexagon with the depth of antique terracotta floors. The result is visual interest that feels architectural rather than ornamental, bringing depth and dimension without overpowering the room.

Heritage Patterns

For centuries, decorative floors have brought pattern, craftsmanship and character to everyday spaces. Etoile and Estrela reinterpret archival star motifs in durable porcelain, pairing a weathered, handcrafted appearance with practical performance.

“Tile has told a story for centuries. I designed this collection with The Tile Shop to honor that—classic lines, timeless colors. Let the story continue.”

– Nate Berkus

Design a Home That Tells Your Story

Berkus believes a home should do more than look beautiful. “I want you to create a home that speaks to who you are,” he says. “The spaces we return to every day should feel authentic, comfortable and deeply connected to the people who live there.”

Whether you’re refreshing one room or designing an entire home, the Nate Berkus collection provides a foundation for spaces that adapt to changing lives while telling a richer story with each passing year. Begin with versatile foundations, add pattern and texture where you want expression, and create a home that reflects who you are today while leaving room for everything still to come.
